Clarks + DOOM: Limited Edition Wallabee

The unlikely footwear staple in hip-hop fashion history gets the NY treatment from the mysterious rapper

Only a handful of shoe designs can claim a true hip-hop pedigree. The Adidas Superstar (sans laces) owes its street cred to Run-DMC while the ’90s East Coast rap scene’s affinity for Timberland boots tripled sales over the decade. And British shoemaker Clarks owes part of its success to the Wu Tang Clan. The NY-based crew started wearing Wallabees (a moccasin-inspired shoe developed in Ireland) in the early ’90s and has since solidified its sartorial place in hip-hop culture. Now, the brand has partnered with longtime Clarks fan and critically acclaimed rapper DOOM for a Limited Edition Wallabee. The mysterious rapper (aka Daniel Dumile) has famously worn a metal mask for much of his career and floats between London, New York and Atlanta. As an homage to the New York Knicks, DOOM gave the shoes a royal blue suede outer and orange laces. Embossed mask details on the heel and in the liner of the shoe make it a must-cop for collectors and fans alike.

The DOOM Wallabees are available 12 December 2014 via the Clarks webstore and select shops worldwide for $175.
