Paul Smith x Burton Mark XIII
by Tim Yu

Yes, this really is snowboard gear. I know it looks incredibly traditional, but it's the second limited-edition collaboration between Paul Smith (always one of my favorites) and Burton Snowboards, and has just hit the shops. Last time they got together, in 2005, they came up with navy pinstripe-suit inspired gear straight out of the city.

This time, the countryside looks like the starting point for what's called the Mark XIII collection.
At right is the double-breasted trench coat, made from cavalry twill and featuring silver-plated buttons as well as a traditional guardsman crest. It costs £675 while matching trousers are available for £275. Above right is the £495 take on a traditional single-breasted hacking jacket, in green-hunting check with printed pocket-linings and stitch detailing. Both are obviously water proof.
At first glance, I really like what the companies have come up with. Sporting it while gunning down a mountain may be a different matter though.
Threadless Select: The Future Is Feeling
by Mike Giles
The latest from Threadless Select, today's release features The Future Is Feeling, a t-shirt and matching headband from Montreal-based artist Neil Doshi. While the regular Threadless shirts rely on the community to vote on the winning submitted designs, the Select shirts are invite only, and bypass the typical Threadless voting process. They hand-pick artists and designers who they think excel in their fields to do an anything-goes tee that can use up to 10 colors, as well as interesting materials like puff, glow and foils on (thankfully) American Apparel shirts. In addition, they're now encouraging the artists to come up with "extras" to come with the designs, like Doshi's shamanistic headgear.
Didier Massard
by Jonah Samson

I really don't think I could ever get my fill of good dioramas, and here are some more great ones from French artist Didier Massard.
Made without the help of digital manipulation, he conceives his complex images in his imagination and draws on our romantic notions of travel and place. His exotic creations evoke travels throughout Ireland, China, India, Holland, the cliffs of Normandy, and even underwater. Massard works for very long periods on each diorama, and hopes that each "is the completion of an inner imaginary journey."

CompleteTechnique Jewlery
by Jacob Resneck

Brooklyn's CompleteTechnique recently unveiled a line of jewelry pieces that take the aesthetic of urban audio to a new level. New to the collection, the range of iPod shaped pendants, or for a more classic look, Sony Walkman cassette players, elevate devices to objects of adulation. These aural accouterments are a natural accessory for anyone interested in music.
With each piece melded from 18k gold and platinum, the custom work involves unparalleled craftsmanship and quality. This is no costume jewelry, instead these pieces boast, in CreativeTechnique's own words, “unmatched finesse.”
Browsing the site, it's unclear if the pieces are the creation of CreativeTechnique's founder and creative director, Osamu Koyama, who has been at the helm since 1999. Modesty aside, Koyama's work has catalyzed well deserved buzz and the site is more than worth a look.
Animal Conclave
by Lost At E Minor
Featuring the works of three independent Sydney-based artists, the Animal Conclave exhibition at the Blank Space Gallery is a collaboration aiming to "fuse a rustic earthy theme" with a grittier "street style." The project takes in the work of 3D animator and graphic designer, Bill Chen, who has recently made his mark in the fashion industry with street-wear label Meet Tyrone; self-taught artist SMC, who uses character based styles with a minimal color palette; and Striker, who claims to be "half-man, half-squid." Indeed.
