Scratchcard Wallpaper

by Ami Kealoha

One-upping the wallpaper trend, London-based textile designer Linda Florence applies a silvery sheen of the type used on scratch-off lottery tickets to a floral pattern. With all of the joy of discovery minus inevitable disappointment over the losing odds, Florence's design is a new foray into interactive décor. Contact her directly through her site for sales.

Chocolove's Chocolatour Single Origin Bars

by Evan Orensten

chocoaltour_all_05.jpg

Chocolove has released the 2005 edition of their single-origin Chocolatour bars. As with previous releases, the cocoa beans from any given country must be worthy enough to stand on their own. The flavour characteristics of a specific country tend to remain similar from year to year, but each vintage imparts its own distinct character.

Varieties included in this vintage include: Tanzania 76% Dark Chocolate, Dominican Republic 70% Dark Chocolate, São Tomé 70% Dark Chocolate, Grenada 60% Dark Chocolate and Java 33% Milk Chocolate.

I've been enjoying the São Tomé most of all. And looking back at at last year's vintage I felt the same way. The Tanzania bar is new this vintage and another standout.

Chocolove's organic bars recently launched (both are excellent) and their Toffee and Almond bar is the only milk chocolate bar you'll find in the CH HQ chocolate drawer. Widely available and only a few dollars a bar (and online by the case), Chocolove continues to produce some of the best tasting and most affordable bars around.

Tykho Fans

by SummerSeventySix

tykhofan.jpg

We've just had the hottest July day ever in the UK, so having a decent fan at hand is a necessity right now. Most on the market favor function over form, but the Tykho Fan looks, and keeps you, cool. Designed by Marc Berthier and made by Lexon, its safe rubber blades spin at two speeds, and come in several colors. An example is also kept in the permanent collection of Paris's Centre Pompidou. €45 from Singulier.

urbanyetti

by Ami Kealoha

urbanyetti.jpg

Apparently, mythological creatures aren't only found in forests and lakes these days. Urbanyetti has been sited in cities worldwide, on t-shirts, and on this (suitably scared-looking) baby's onesie. The brainchild of San Francisco-based artist and one-time Nickolodeon prop designer Aaron Terry, adult sizes come in either black or baby blue, onesies are on soft white, and they're all silkscreened on 100% cotton American Apparel. The urbanyetti also comes in three dimensions as a limited edition toy that Terry handmade from wood. Part of Project Spera, an organization that works with youth to increase global awareness.

Flickr Down

by Josh Rubin

Flickr-Down

There was a moment last night when I logged in to Flickr and the site was down. Instead of boring excuses laden with empty apologies there was this fun, engaging and on-brand message that turned the whole event in to a creative contest.

Arrggh! Our tubes are clogged!
Because this sucks*, we thought you might like to enter an impromptu competition to win a FREE PRO ACCOUNT!

Just print out this page and colour in the dots. When the site's back up, take a photo of your creation and post it to Flickr, tagged with "flickrcolourcontest".

Team Flickr will pick a winner in the next couple of days, and that lucky duck will get a free year of Pro.

* Seriously, we apologise for the unannounced downtime. We're working as fast as we can to get flickr.com back online.

Beautifully handled Team Flickr!
