Gregory Siff
by Ami Kealoha
When Gregory Siff isn't acting in independent films, modeling for Abercrombie, or hosting Disney's Z Games, he's painting, creating installations and sculptures, or customizing Stan Smith adidas. The NYC-born, 27 year-old wunderkind tailors the kicks, called "Gregory's," according to the character of the individual. Currently he also offers more minimalist versions, like those pictured, at Rudy's Barbershop in the Hollywood Standard hotel. His graffiti sneakers follow the same sincere poetics that run throughout his body of work, touching on love, loss, and spirituality.
Laughing Bike
by Josh Rubin
Another highlight from the Basel weekend (yes, updates are still coming) was Soundbike, an art project by Jessica Thompson. Basically, a fleet of bikes was outfitted to emit laughter when the rider pedals. The faster the pedaling, the louder and more hysterical the laughter. In addition to being a lot of fun, I though her piece was a perfect little statement on the art consumption frenzy that was Art Basel.

ITP Winter Show

Mark your calendars because next Sunday and Monday is the Interactive Telecommunications Program Winter Show. The student work presented will include interactive art and sound, assistive technology, wireless devices and physical installations. ITP is a fantastic program that pushes the boundaries of technology mediated interactive experiences. It's also near and dear because some of us here at CH (myself included) graduated from there or are currently enrolled.
To get a sense of what ITP is all about, check out this review of last's Spring's show, and stories on projects including Cellphedia, Codeck, PacManhattan and James Clar.

White Walls "Untitled" Show
by Carol T Chung

The opening reception for the White Walls Gallery show "Untitled" starts tonight. The group show features artists: Caleb Neelon, Sylvia Ji, Ogi, Sage Vaughn, and Anthony Yankovic III. If you don't live in SF, poo for you. These artists are all amazing and just from looking at their portfolios I can tell this show is gonna kick ass. I already know that Ogi's got talent and I'm excited to see what new work he'll be showing. I'm also really interested in checking out Sylvia Ji's work. Her depiction of women give off a sense of power to rival that of any man. If you're in the Bay Area, you should come check out the show. It runs from December 8th to January 10th. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
When & Where: Opening reception is on December 8th from 7pm to 11pm. The show runs from December 8th to January 10th. 835 Larkin St. San Francisco, CA 94109
