Home to the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924 and situated at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Western Europe, Chamonix quickly established itself as a must-visit destination. A one hour drive to Geneva and a convenient overnight train ride from Paris, Chamonix is more accessible than ever, proving its worth among the more well-known ski regions in the Alps.
