Stereotypes aside, Portland has become a mecca for young designers, little startups and big creative companies—all existing harmoniously between the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The booming creative community in the city inspires healthy competition and ensures that there is always something new on the horizon—meaning visitors and locals get to reap the rewards; from craft coffee to handmade leather goods and farm-to-table fare.

We trawled the city for the best of the best, in an attempt to make Cool Hunting’s City Guides—made possible thanks to Lexus—useful for both locals and visitors alike. You’ll find everything from food truck tips including Nong’s Khao Man Gai, to vintage shopping for “dad jeans” and boots from Portland brands like Pendleton and Danner at Rad Summer, to browsing through some of the most beautiful Mid-Century Modern furniture at the Good Mod. Plus there are so many purveyors of outdoor attire and equipment that there will be no excuse for hitting the open road and heading out on an adventure.

There are more Lexus City Guides on their way, and existing destinations will continue having spots added, so after perusing our favorite spots in Portland, be sure to check out other cities and updates.
