The Lotus Sanitizing System from Tersano uses Oxyshield technology to infuse water with ozone. Voted one of Time's best inventions of 2006, process transforms ordinary tap water into a non-toxic solution that can be used to neutralize up to 99.9% of bacteria and pesticides on foods, as well as clean all surfaces, remove stains, mold and mildew and deodorize.

A multi-purpose bowl sanitizes and removes pesticides from fruits and vegetables and household items, like sponges, small toys, kitchen gadgets and utensils by submerging them completely. The spray bottle creates a mobile version of the powerful tap water-based all-purpose cleaner for use on most services. The kit includes a set of two microfiber cleaning cloths that go with the spray bottle to achieve impressive results.

Giving up a little of the precious counter-top real estate to store the admittedly somewhat clunky Lotus Sanitizing System maybe be a worthwhile trade-off to eliminate toxic cleaning products, germs, odors and pesticides from your home.

Available online, the $170 price includes shipping.
