Biodiesel

Maybe it's because of all the bullshit oil politics, or maybe it's because I just revisited my crunchy Vermont roots-- either way, I'm fascinated by Biodiesel at the moment. It is an old concept that's seeing a rebirth among socially responsible and environmentally conscious youth. My friend Nori runs her Merc on Biodiesel and taught me all about it.

What is Biodiesel?
Biodiesel is a domestic, non-toxic, biodegradable fuel that can be made from used cooking oil. As a society, we will use up our fossil fuels much sooner than we will transcend toward a healthy raw food diet; fried foods and waste vegetable oil are not becoming a scarcity. There is also a huge transformation that happens when you are in control of your own fuel. Being able to harness ones own energy in a sustainable manner is one of the best things we can do to support our fragile planet.
