There's no particular reason for writing this now, but as a dyed in the wool fan of Paul Smith, I'm constantly on the look out for others inspired by, or who inspire, the great man. Over the coming week, we'll bring you a series of such items, starting with this handsome cycling shirt.
For the first time in years, the Tour de France began in the U.K. over the weekend, with Le Grand Depart taking place in London. The young Paul Smith was an out-and-out cycling fanatic and it has never left him, so you can imagine his excitement at the Tour coming to his homeland. To mark it, he's had a hand in designing this vintage-inspired jersey along with cycle-wear specialists Rapha. It comes in the same color green that's worn by the sprint winner, and embroidered on the back is a map of Stage One of the Tour through southern England. It's available online from Paul Smith for £180.
