In re-imagining certain daily ubiquities—from the Have a Nice Day plastic bag to paper lunch sacks—clever designers have come up with delightfully intentional accessories. Whimsy is one thing, however—true sophistication is quite another. Inspired by the functional but often dingy spreads used to wrap and protect furniture and insulate elevators under construction, the Moving Tote by Meet Me Here translates quite surprisingly to a richly understated carryall.

Blending quilted canvas in serene gray with accents like vegetable-tanned leather handles and a shoulder strap, as well as copper and brass hardware, the totes stay true to the blanket's roots by offering something durable, but with a clean and elegant new silhouette that fits a laptop, change of clothes and more.

Seattle-based Meet Me Here makes everything in-house from start to finish, producing high-quality accessories in small, careful runs. The Moving Tote is available for $725 from their website, along with the rest of the collection of bags and small accessories.
