Escama (Portuguese for fish scales) take pride in creating handmade bags in Brasília, Brazil from recylced materials. They are partnered with two women’s coopertives in Brazil (Cia do Lacre and 100 Dimensão) that take care of all aspects of production. By doing so, they help the economically depressed communities where the bags are created. Although looking to expand, their products are currently only sold through California retail outlets.
