Art in a Box
from mrt (09 Nov 2009): The Compound Gallery is pleased to announce ART IN A BOX, a new art subscription service featuring Bay Area artists. Operating on the model of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) or wine subscription service, Art in a Box offers amazing original works of art instead of vegetables or wine. Each month subscribers receive a new work of fine art by a different local artist. Our featured artists work in a variety of mediums (ceramic, printmaking, painting, collage, digital prints, etc.) and most of them live and work in Oakland or San Francisco. Subscribers can indicate a preference in mediums, but not the artist or piece. All artwork is contained in an 11” x 17” x 3” box along with the artist’s bio. Subscriptions are $30/month for pick up only, and $50/month which includes shipping and a bonus piece (there is a minimum three month subscription). We currently have subscribers in all parts of the U.S.—from Oakland to Brooklyn. Art in a Box allows subscribers to receive high quality works worth much more than the subscription cost, gives local artists national exposure, and helps to support the arts and artists in the Bay Area.

What really makes me love allpopart is THEY PAY ATTENTION to the SMALL DETAILS! thats very cool because not too many companies do that now a days. They are simply great.
Papercraft Self Portrait
from Three (03 Nov 2009): Be yourself tonight, next Halloween why not go as yourself. This Papercraft self Portrait for Eric Testroete must have been startling to see in the streets. The project was inspired by big-head mode seen in videogames. The process involved using 3ds Max , Mudbox 2010, Photoshop CS3, Pepakura, and TexTools software before printing, cutting and folding up the pieces. Nice work!
Handmade, vintage-style typographic art print

BainTrust
from bain (25 Oct 2009): BainTrust.com is a new site that showcases artists you probably don't know about. The site sells limited edition, unique prints at a reasonable price. The first artist, Kleber Menezes, who was named one of the world's 200 best illustrators, creates juxtaposed, digital illustrations. I started this site because I love Kleber's work and want to share it with the masses.

Isis Dei: Laptop Bags, MacBook Sleeves, Keyboard Covers, & Accessories | Isis Dei
from smartvoodoo (21 Oct 2009): I LOVE this company. So they are by far the best cases I have seen for the price. The construction is so thorough - with heat-dissipating inner lining, a memory foam shell, etcetera. AND if yours gets old or dirty you can trade it in for half off a new one! Making it way cheaper than any of those other crappy companies. I feel like with most companies you either get good design, or good protection, but with Isis you get both.
The Printmaking Bible

A nearly complete collection of every painting and sculpture he created between 2006 and 2009, "Shadows In The Periphery" also includes several pages in the back that give a glimpse of the creation process...reference drawings, sketches, photos of sculpts and paintings in their earliest stages, and even pictures of his studio and workspace. Foil-stamped hardcover, 70+ pages filled with over 60 images including paintings, sculpture, toys, process and inspiration PLUS a forward by Mr. Jeff Soto.
