Japanese Soldiers Create Star Wars Snow Sculptures
on 09 February 2015
Each year, troops from the Japanese Self-Defense Forces are tasked with building massive snow sculptures for the annual Sapporo Snow Festival. The icy undertaking is meant to be a team-bonding experience, benefiting the platoon and the public. This year, the JSDF 11th Brigade erected an intimidating Star Wars-themed monument featuring the busts of Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, the Death Star and a TIE Fighter. Lucasfilm documented the month-long process with a few pictures.
