Net Neutrality Wins

In an expected 3-2 vote, the FCC has elected to reclassify the internet as a “telecommunications service,” effectively banning throttling, blocking and paid prioritization. The new rules level the playing field for all internet entities and prohibit cable providers like Time Warner Cable or Comcast from requiring websites to “pay to play” for faster online speeds. This open internet format will treat smaller sites the same as more established ones, giving startups the same shot at success like once underdogs Facebook and Google.
