Moto-à-Porter
(24 January 2007) - For the next week you can see my finds on Moto-à-Porter, a "super blog" covering São Paulo's Fashion Week. Created by the creative team ag407 for Motorola, the site is part of the lounge they've set up (pictured) and Moto-à-Porter is already full of posts by the cast of 12 Brazilian bloggers and four international bloggers (Cool Hunting, Face Hunter, Trendwatching and World Changing)....
Motofone
(04 December 2006) - Designed to be universally easy to use, Motophone, Motorola's sleek new "no-manual," no-frills phone, is almost here. Their experience website, just launched today detailing their design process and extensive research—including visits to multiple continents to conduct ethnographies of how people actually use their phones. The upshot is a super-thin (9 mm) candy bar phone with several features that truly make it a phone for...
Red Moto FONE
(31 July 2006) - Announced last week, the Motorola FONE promises to bring wireless telephony to the rest of the world. Beyond its emerging market focus the 9mm thick, seemingly simple device, will no doubt have a place in the hands of veteran wireless users as well. It's small and sexy, but made with cheap parts so it will be easy for anyone to get one. No one has...
iTunes Phone
(07 September 2005) - Well it's finally official. After many months of rumors, the Motorola ROKR (pronounced rocker) was just announced as the first phone with built in iTunes software. It only holds 100 songs and is therefor a phone that can sync with iTunes (as opposed to an iPod with phone features). Music playback is apparently well integrated with the phone features: The Motorola ROKR features a...
Motorola A780
(27 July 2004) - Sorry for the Motoverkill, but this one is near and dear to me-- as a member of the original design team for the software in this puppy, I'm happy to see it has finally matured a bit. There have been several iterations: first was the A760, then the A768, then the E680. Each one a little better than the next, but not quite fulfilling...
AppleMoto
(27 July 2004) - Motorola and Apple have announced a partnership to create a mobile version of iTunes. With it, you'll be able to transfer music from iTunes on your Mac or PC to a Motorola handset via USB or Bluetooth. Obviously this means you'll be able to listen to music from your phone; hopefully it also means you can use songs from mobile iTunes for ring tones....
Motorola V3
(26 July 2004) - Mobile Review might have leaked this a bit early, but it looks legit. The V3 (aka Razor) is basically a V600, but is made of titanium and measures a mere 14mm thick. Motorola is slowly getting back on the innovation bus-- it's about time! via Gizmodo 27 July Update: It is real. It's called the RAZR V3 and it's aluminum, not titanium. Details here....
Motorola MPx
(08 March 2004) - Some new pictures of the Motorola MPx surfaced today. I really like the idea of this device -form defining function. Open it vertically, it's a phone, open it horizontally and it's a PDA. I just wish it didn't use the Pocket PC OS which is so un-user-friendly. I'm also very curious to see the buttons up close. How usable and intuitive are they??...
E2800 from E28
(19 February 2004) - Shanghi based start-up, E28, has started selling a new Linux based PDA/Phone hybrid in the Chinese market. While the power and flexibility exceed that of the Motorola A760 and A768, the device design looks incredibly similar. Might this have something to do with the fact that E28 was started by a few former Motorolans? here's a tech review here's a business review...
Motorola A768
(13 February 2004) - Motorola China has announced the A768, which is a follow on to the Linux based A760. The updated version targets enterprise users with full Microsoft Office integration, VPN software, more memory and voice notes. read the review at linuxdevices.com...
Motorola V80 (R880)
(16 December 2003) - According to Mobile Review, the Motorola V80 (previously thought to be named the R880) has been confirmed for April 2004 delivery. The V80 is the successor of the original rotator, the V70 . One great feature is the ability to compose a picture with the screen rotated 90 degrees -the result is a more natural posture for taking snapshots. With a unique design and...
Galvin Steps Down
(19 September 2003) - Ok, this is not my usual type of post, but it is the coolest thing to happen to Motorola in years. CEO Chris Galvin is stepping down! As a former Motorolan, I'm very happy for my friends who are still there. It should be a good thing for the company. more on CNET...
