SFMOMA Diaspora Playing Cards
(04 February 2009) - Las Vegas, a city that can be as lonely as it is lively, is accurately depicted in SFMOMA Architecture + Design Forum's newly commissioned design project, appropriately entitled Diaspora. A double deck of artfully designed playing cards, Diaspora is a collaboration between Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Michael Cunningham and dynamic graphic designer Martin Venezky in conjunction with SFMOMA's recent exhibition, "Double Down: Two Visions of...

JetVegas, Zune Giveaway
(16 June 2008) - Thrillist and Jetblue joined forces to create the boozy whirlwind forever to be remembered as JetVegas. Whether we subscribe to the cliché or just had too much Skyy to remember, what happened in Vegas stays in Vegas. We teamed up with Zune...

CH Video from CES
(17 January 2006) - If you care about electronics and gadgets you no-doubt followed Engadget, Gizmodo, I4U and the countless others who covered the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas less than 2 weeks ago. We were there too and posted a couple of our finds, but this time around we were more focused on creating some clips for Cool Hunting Video. The editing is wrapping up and...

Hanspree Televisions
(06 January 2006) - One of the things that's struck our eye here at CES in Las Vegas are these fun and inexpensive television sets from Hanspree. They come in dozens of shapes and styles for kids, sports fans and design freaks and are well priced. While the occasional character or sports team set is not new, we like that Hanspree is producing a whole range of televisions...

Sneezing Hula Girls
(10 January 2005) - CES wasn't the only show in Vegas last week. The Adult Entertainment Expo was there, too. While the show was mostly dedicated to porn, there were a good number of gadget vendors as well. Most of the warez were run of the mill sex toys, but these 3 vibrators were something special. They simultaneously buzz and gyrate and I think they're supposed to look...

Back to the Basics: Calculators
(10 January 2005) - CES was certainly a fascinating experience. Just when I thought I had seen everything I passed this display of, well, calculators. Thank goodness there was still room and respect for some of the most basic of gadgets. I have a few more things to share and promise to post them up today. If you're looking for an inventory of all the latest and greatest...

CES Style: Booth Girl Gets Her Gadget On
(06 January 2005) - Yes, I too am at CES in lovely (sarcasm) Las Vegas. While I saw some really great stuff today, I'm totally exhausted. I promise to share all the goodies, but until then I leave you with this image. Apparently the booth-girl costume Creative issued their Zen Micro models was a little too tight for this woman to carry her mobile phone and camera(?). So...

Tim Bavington
(28 March 2004) - The latest series from Vegas based artist, Tim Bavington, is up at Mark Moore. Bavington's luscious air brushed stripes are said to be derived from rock and roll guitar riffs-- as such, they are an abstracted data visualization. Rockin-techno-fab!...
