Modern Convenience Inside Skates
(22 August 2006) - At the ICFF a couple years back, Modern Convenience's Naugahyde-upholstered skateboards caught our eye for the way they make a familiar object into a sculptural toy. Now this fresh lemon-lime colorway is available exclusively at Coolestshop for $525 and for another $500 you can pick up the coordinating Formula Werks custom-painted New Balance 574s. Though I haven't tried a Freeboard, this video certainly makes it look like the San Francisco based, rider owned company got it right. You can carve, slide, spin and stop using all the same movements as on the slope. Granted, concrete is not as forgiving...

All the colorways for their Dunk, Delta Force, URL, Angus, E-Cue and FC are shown. A sucker for anything shiny, the chrome and black Angus above is my favorite. The site also includes lots of great photos and videos, plus a whole community section....
