Sex Toys with Style

A round up of our latest well-designed favorites for all genders

by David Graver in Design on 19 December 2013

After research (and even testing) we've selected these beautiful, useful and entirely playful toys—designed with style—to add new dimension to your sex life. Some of these items are for women, some are for men and some are for both, or even sharing. We're not concerned with who uses what, just so long as you find them to be both safe and fun. There doesn't need to be a stigma around sex toys—as with exploration anywhere else, these devices are for enhancement, excitement and encouraging intimacy.

Cock rings function to make erections more intense—bigger, harder and with a longer lifespan. These beautiful Stockroom wood cock rings are a great place to start. Not only are they crafted from a beautiful cherry wood, and come in multiple sizes, they're also coated with Lubrosity—making them hypoallergenic, as well as water and bacteria resistant. From a design perspective, they make traditional rubber, plastic or metal cock rings look boring. You can get your size for $40.

For a more advanced experience, the Screaming O Craze offers plenty of superior functionality. Referred to as a "specialty erection ring," this has some stretch but not too much thanks to metal ball reinforcement. Plus there are two super-powered motors, aimed at dual-action stimulation. The ring also comes with two "bullet" attachments for all sorts of imaginative usage. The Craze retails for about $30.

One can't help but marvel at the beauty of Lelo's Soraya. Beyond that, the vibrator comes with two well-placed pieces—an internal portion that curves slightly for G-spot stimulation and a flexible clitoral attachment—both vibrate with three speeds and five patterns. It's waterproof, rechargeable and can run for up to four hours, setting the standard quite high. CH favorite Babeland sells the Soraya for $200.

The Key by Jopen definitely has some magic wand vibes. All seven functions come wrapped in a silicone presentation that's light, smooth and customizable. Press it on top or put it inside; either way, there's a function worth trying. This body massager sells for $40.

Twists and turns grant Adam's Silicone Prostate Massager multiple dimensions for maximum pleasure. The wavy design not only allows for easier entry but when inside touches multiple direct and indirect points of stimulation. Beginners needn't fear, the silicone is flexible. Available for $20 from Adam & Eve Toys online.

Tenga has made quite the name for themselves with their "Eggs" masturbation accessory. Now, they've released Eggs (Hardboiled Edition), built from a firmer elastomer sleeve. This lends itself to a greater feeling of tightness, while maintaining the swirling textures found in the original iteration. The disposable sleeve—which comes in six different "experiences"—is a valid, enjoyable option. A six-pack of the hardboiled version costs $40.

Luxe options abound, but what tickled our fancy most was Lelo's Inez 24kt Gold Exclusive Vibrator. The device has a simple, elegant structure exemplified by shimmering gold. As much as it looks like it's just for pampering, the Inez packs more than the basic functions required for playtime. This vibrator sells for $15,000.

The Vivi is one of the most advanced sex toys made to date. More than nine different patterns, the vibrator has three forward-thinking modes. The "Internet Mode" allows a partner, regardless of where they are, to control the toy across an internet connection. The "Remote Mode" allows your partner, when nearby, to control the device. Vivi's team suggests this is great for public spaces. Finally, the "Music Mode" allows you to connect your favorite music. The music stream dictates the pulsation. You can grab Remote Pleasure's Vivi for $220, or support their latest product in development over at Indiegogo.

If getting frisky warrants a little smack, we recommend this suede whip. The supple material isn't over-the-top, and it comes in black, purple or red. It has a great grip and with a little daring, or role playing, can take you into uncharted territories or reinforce existing interests. Available for $50.

If demonstrating restraint is more up your alley, this Restraining Arts Kit from Kiki de Montparnasse will do the trick. It's entry-level and comes complete with lambskin-lined wrist and ankle cuffs (finished with metal hardware), adjustable straps finished with leather trim and metal hardware, and a handcrafted paddle. The entire kit and its elegant storage box cost $1,350.

The smallest fingertip vibrator available, JimmyJane's Hello Touch can be used both internally and externally. Each finger has a vibration pod, enclosed within a silicone fingerpad. Don't let the size fool you, it's a powerful device and as mobile as it is, the stimulation is sensational. The Hello Touch takes advantage of flexible fingers, and costs $65.

With sleek German design, the Ovo B5 Ring has a curved, feminine shape. Designed for sharing, this platinum silicone device keeps quiet, works in the shower and although it is a single speed, vibrates with power. All of that for $13.

It might not be as versatile as lube, but Honey Dust definitely serves a purpose. Composed of honey-sweetened, vine-ripened raspberries, this body powder is lickable if you'd like but is also simply silky soft. This kit also comes with a feather applicator. Usage is optional, depending on if you're looking for a tickle, a flick or just an alluring fragrance. The entire kit costs just under $22.

As much as we encourage talking about and enjoying these toys, you may still want a place to safely hide them away. Liberator's stow pillow provides plenty of space to hide your wares. It's padded for extra-protection, the fabric is premium and there's a hidden zip compartment. This storage pillow is a stylish alternative to any toy bag. Available for $30.
