by Josh Rubin in Design on 01 June 2004

Originally covered Mozzee for £255.

NEST® combines minimalist form with superior function. The compact shape and stable tulip base enable NEST® to be pulled right into to the table with no tripping hazards. The UV stabilised polyethylene curved seat and tray simply wipe clean. A machine washable 5-point safety harness is supplied with NEST®. NEST® is designed and built to last. This chair fits babies and children from 6 months to 6 years. The removable tray is suitable for baby feeding. For toddlers and young children who want to join the family at meal times, NEST® easily converts to a standard table height booster chair by removing the tray. Is your child too old for a high chair? In just moments NEST® converts to NESTER - a cool low chair that will last you child to 6 years of age. Available colours are white and black.

The Design Story As nothing in the market integrated with her modern ad contemporary interiors, Australian architect Sally Dominguez set out to design baby furniture that did not compromise the aesthetics of living space. Sally designed NEST® to incorporate a pedestal base which in compliments the organic shape of the seat and tray, adding up to a minimalist design. The scooped chair and sloped back gently restricts movement by cupping the child into a “racing car position”. In practical terms it was important that NEST® was compact and stable to meet safety standards. Only durable materials were considered for the production of the chair. The base is made of heavy duty powder coated steel and the seat is made of UV stabilised polyethylene. The form and materials of NEST® make the chair simple to wipe clean. An important consideration was that NEST® would last children beyond their toddler years. As such NEST® can be easily converted to NESTER a cool low lounging chair that will suit children up to 6 years of age. NEST® was awarded the prestigious Australian Design Mark for innovative and safe design and has been featured in The Times, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times, Evening Standard, South China Morning Post, Junior Magazine, Dwell, Metropolitan Home, Living etc and continues to be featured in leading publications worldwide.
