The new year has us updating our old routines around the house, and fresh linens seem like one of the easiest ways to make a clean start. This week, we've gathered up five beautifully crafted towels to help spruce up the bath and get us going on cold mornings. First up, Candy Stripe towels from Kara Weaves.
Kara Weaves' colorful and lightweight bath sheets are handwoven using customary wooden looms. Made of thorthu, a type of fabric native to Kerala, India, these cotton towels have a unique double strand flat weave that makes them incredibly durable, quick drying and compact for travel. Kara Weaves was founded in Kerala by social anthropologist Indu Menon and graphic designer Chitra Gopalakrishnan, who manage production and design, respectively, to share with the world fairly traded, handwoven cotton fabrics native to the region.
Kara Weaves' Candy Stripe Towels are $25 each and come in an array of colors. To purchase visit Kara Weaves' website.
