The wait is almost over. After coming out of complete obscurity to turn the world upside down in early 2004, Franz Ferdinand has spent the better part of the last six months writing and recording. And they’re just now teasing us with the first single from its forthcoming new album. Well, sort of.
In connection with URB magazine’s exclusive interview and cover story with the band (full disclosure: I occasionally write for the magazine), Franz’s first single, “Do You Want To,†is being streamed on URB’s MySpace page. I’m not sure how long it’ll be up there, so make sure you hit it ASAP.
Alex Kapranos and his fellow Scots will release their second album, You Could Have it So Much Better…with Franz Ferdinand, on October 3 – and it seems like the whole world will be watching. There’s been a lot of mystery surrounding this project and if you read the NME you know what I’m talking about.
