Cool Hunting Rough Cut: DJ Spooky at the Met

A look at the inaugural performer in the museum's new artist residency program

by Cool Hunting Video in Culture on 10 April 2013

This year the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York developed its first artist residency program, kicking it off with DJ Spooky's live string quartet and video composition exploring the elements in its title, "Of Water and Ice."

We jumped at the chance to interview Paul D. Miller AKA DJ Spooky on the occasion of the live performance. Combining areas such as architecture, live music, sampling, and projections of images taken from a studio expedition to Antartica, the cross-disciplinary artist explains his creative evolution since the 1990s, his interest in working across multiple platforms, and his relation to landscapes and music.

Spooky's residency program goes on until June 2013.
