A first generation Korean-American, Tim grew up on Blood Street in a small, old New England town. His environment provided the opportunity to pick and choose from two different cultures resulting in an eclectic mix of interests and characteristics.

After graduating from Skidmore College with a B.A in Biology-Psychology he traveled through S. America and Asia and lived in S. Korea. An outdoor enthusiast now living in Brooklyn, NY, he worked in the Strategic Marketing Department of Warner Brother Records and followed it with a position at the Yale Medical School researching mechanisms of Diabetes.

He enjoys playing fútbol and is a good eater. If he could, he’d have a new pair of socks for every day.

Outlier Workwear Pants
Informally dubbed as the anti-jean, I've worn my Outlier Workwear Pants for four days straight, and tomorrow makes five. A simple, stripped-down pair that prioritizes functionality, it's durable, versatile and always maintains a clean look. Tailored in NYC, the pant is constructed using a double weave method featuring a Cordura canvas face and soft brushed back interior to ensure comfort. The fabric is a...
The Palindrome Series by Peter Marigold
Now on view as a part of "The Harder They Fall" exhibit at Moss Gallery in NYC, artist/designer Peter Marigold created a new series of works cleverly entitled The Palindrome Series. Using wood, acrylic, gypsum composite and fiberglass, Marigold plays with symmetry by creating pieces of furniture that are half mold and half cast resulting in mirrored textures and details. Marigold explains the process...
Pointer Footwear
During a recent visit to the Shoreditch area of London, I had the chance to drop in on the five-year-old brand Pointer Footwear. Housed in a space with both Edwin and Carhartt, founder Gareth Skewis—a well-connected professional that started his career skating in the streets of Johannesburg—now helms the growing label. His office, cluttered (in the best sense) with original artworks, Pointer samples, skateboards...
Diesel Farm Wine and Olive Oil
Branching out from denim and distressed fashion and looking to a different part of their Italian heritage, Diesel recently started to produce their own wine and olive oil under the Diesel Farm label. Diesel's premium offerings include a '99, '04 and '05 Chardonnay for €110, an '04 and '05 Merlot/Cabernet blend for €148, an '04 and '05 Pinot Nero for €138, a Grappa for...
Maison Martin Margiela Glass Slippers
Made famous by none other than Cinderella and brought to life by Maison Martin Margiela, the Brothers Grimm fantastical shoe concept now exists, albeit in limited quantities. While Margiela usually plays with reality by repurposing everyday objects (see his Currency Wallets, nail keyring and silver hospital bracelet) rather than turning to fairytales, we can't think of a better designer to execute this shoe. Taking...
Yuketen Double-Ring Boot
We've seen a lot of these double-ring boots lately but our favorite thus far has to be this version by Yuketen. Featuring a sturdy cream-colored Vibram sole, you can be rest assured that it will eat up any type of terrain this fall. Sewn into the stable sole is an oiled moccasin upper that is soft and supple providing comfort. The double-ring system pulls...
