I grew up on the West coast of Canada among the biodiversity and multiculturalism of Vancouver and have since traded in natural beauty for big city life. This past year has seen me pinball between Toronto, London and New York. My desire to learn about ethnicity and culture has kept me on a continual global journey and motivated me to spend much my adult life roaming the continents, observing people and style, at all ends of the spectrum.
With a background in communication and design, I have worked in various veins of the fashion industry, refining my eye for change-in-the-making. I am constantly on the prowl for a blip in the radar that causes a stir in popular culture.
On the weekend, you'll most likely find me digging around at the local market, wherever I happen to be.

These three brands all have an ethos of simplicity, draw on Eastern traditions, and use top-quality ingredients. We picked their travel kits because we love to be able to really just pick up and go—plus, it's a way to try out new products without a huge investment....

In his collection of portraits titled Hair Wars, NYC-based photographer David Yellen profiles traditional African American beauty parlor culture and invites us into a world of weaves and braids, where no style is too extreme.
