Cool Hunting
Mike Giles
Allthough Furni is a fully registered business and legally separate entity, it's been such a part of Mike's life for the past five years that he's often seen setting it a place at dinner or waiting for it to come home before turning out the porch light. As a sanity break, Mike occasionally finds time to submit things to CH that inspire, invoke and motivate him to "keep on truckin" in this topsy-turvy world.

Pray For Me: The Jason Jessee Film
In today's hyper-extreme, action-packed, sports drink-swilling, hummer-driving, blinged out world of professional skateboarding, with top "athletes" easily making six figure incomes, it's easy for one to forget about the true nature of where skateboarding comes from. Movies like " Dogtown and Z-Boys" helped sum up skateboarding's “roots” by focusing on pioneers such as Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, but not many stories have been...

Multipolar Projects: It's Really Really Really OK
As a woodworker myself I understand the monotony and borderline insanity of a repeated task. (Yesterday alone I made over 1,000 notches in some wood blanks to make boxes.) However, when it's all done, there's definitely beauty in the results and therapy in repetition. That said, Chicago-based artist Sighn has taken on the mother of all projects, hand-cutting 1,000,000 wooden "ornaments" each with the...
