Japan certainly takes its giant robots seriously. As reported by Moe Passion , a blog by an American sailor stationed in Japan, a life-sized replica of a Gundam RX78 Mobile Suit was recently built on the artificial island of Odaiba in Tokyo Bay. It's up until 31 August 2009, so go see it while you can.

His lithographs include abstract colorful pieces as well as human skulls and imagined modern-day tribe portraits (pictured). Sugiyama works mainly...
Sporting Green: RECYCL'art
Recycling cell phones is as easy as finding a designated drop box in one of hundreds of Whole Foods stores nationwide, but when it comes to athletic gear, re-use options are much more limited. Until now, worn out cleats and basketballs were either bound for landfills or had the slim chance of finding a second life as a donation. RECYCL’art, an ongoing Japan-based project...
Bike Rides Exhibition
The upcoming exhibit "Bike Rides" brings together a global cast of artists to celebrate pedal power at a time when the developed world is reclaiming the ubiquitous two-wheeled wonder as a possible savior for our urban transportation woes. We refer, of course, to the trusty bicycle. As the sun sets on the auto age, the work in the show speaks to the increasing cultural...
