Cool Hunting

For those of you still heartbroken over the disappearance of environmentally and performance-driven clothiers Nau, grab your Seventh Generation tissues and dry your tears because Nau is back. Armed with even more beautiful sustainable fabrics, the 2008 Fall/Holiday collection will bring about a positive change, both environmentally and in terms of how we view eco-friendly fashion.
Some highlights from the collection include the Nau classic, the Shroud of Purrin Trench (below left), a water and wind resistant jacket comprised of recycled polyester with a sleek silhouette sure to please any urbanite. There's also the Dualist Jacket (below right), a slim-fitting, merino wool windbreaker with a button-up collar to keep the chill off your neck.

Nau officially relaunches to the public (they've already granted sneak peeks to select old-school customers) 21 October 2008 and you can shop online or stop by the Connect showroom in Chicago. The socially responsible retailer will house the entire Nau collection and offer the choice to take your goods home with you or have them delivered by bike messenger if you live in town.

Designers Mark Galbraith and Peter Kallen show us a few items from their latest collection and Ian Yolles, the VP of Brand Communications, walks us through the process of shopping at one...
Regulating body heat is always a challenge during cold weather — it's always too hot or too cold, especially when running around town from crowded subway to overheated office. Helly Hansen's Odin PCM soft shell jacket solves the problem with technology that automatically adjusts according to your body heat. Fabric called Phase Change Material uses paraffin to store and release heat when needed most....
Apparently we weren't the only ones saddened by the news earlier this year that eco-clothier Nau was shutting its doors. Thanks in part to an outpouring of support from the community, the Santa Barbara, CA-based label Horny Toad stepped in and bought the company. Sharing a commitment to doing business sustainably, it looks like a good match and we congratulate the both of them....
My search for the perfect swimsuit has been an ongoing project for the better part of the last 10 years, so I was pretty excited to happen upon the newly opened Parke & Ronen boutique during my last visit to Los Angeles. Despite the fact that Parke & Ronen (made up of the creative team of Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel) design a complete...
With Memorial Day behind us, it's high time to get out of the city and onto beach. And at CH, we want you looking your best. While most focus gets placed women's swimwear, we know that guys also like a well-designed suit. With that in mind, we looked at some new creations—as well as resurrected classics—and picked a few of our favorites. We hope you...
Here's an early look at what's to come from one of our favorite snow wear brands Idiom. As we've come to expect from Burton's high end label, it seems as though designers Jeff Staple and Hiroshi Fujiwara have kept the 2009 line simple, attractive and technical, just the way we like it. Following suit with Burton's plans to become more environmentally responsible, going green...
