Mixko Alexander Vases by Ami Kealoha

mixko0808.jpg

Fresh from the studio of those cut-up British designers Mixko, these ceramic vases take on the unexpected form of human knees and elbows. We like how the "Michaelangelo meets Dexter" vessel's organic contours are subtle enough to pass for an abstract objet.

Both versions are £100 and available now from DA in Moscow and from Mixko's online store later this month.

Morning Message Pillow
Some of us are less than charming before we've had our morning coffee, but London-based designer James McAdam may have found a way to put an end to misdirected morning grumpiness. His Morning Message Pillow leaves the phrase "Good Morning Sweetheart" indented on your well-rested cheek. Playing on the common sight of cheeks imprinted with pillowcase wrinkles, It's a brilliant example of design that...
Isolyn
Isolyn for their texture-heavy rugs that blend in felted cocoons and bubbles with sustainable materials like leather, sheepskin, and wool. The protruding forms also make for unexpected foot and body massages, and since head designer Michelle Butler once competed in synchronized ice-skating, we'll trust that she knows all about foot relief. The British company was featured at the recent ICFF show in New York...
Richard Woods Home Makeover
London-based designer Richard Woods extends his "Super Tudor" style to a home in Woodstock, NY, giving the nearly 30-year-old structure a completely new look. Known for the idiosyncratic faux wood prints he designed with Sebastian Wrong fittingly called "Wrongwoods," the upstate New York home is not surprisingly "a parody of what a weekend house should be" according to contemporary art collector and home owner...
Digital By Design
In a world becoming more advanced every minute, with everything from virtual reality pinball machines to the common smart phone, it's difficult to make sense of it all. U.K. design studio (and CH heroes) Troika (check out Troika on CH Video here) does just that with their recent book, "Digital By Design," a complete survey of the most innovative digital products and works of art...
