Blow Up Your Flickr: New Online Fullscreen Photo Viewer
by Josh Teixeira
We love our Flickr but the presentation of the pictures has always left a little to be desired—which is why we're so stoked on the new free photo viewer Blow Up. Blow Up makes use of the recently opened-up Flickr API to show your Flickr photos in a beautiful fullscreen display. Enter your Flickr name and see all your sets immediately or download the code to embed it on your blog or website. It's ideal for showcasing professional portfolios, but works just fine if you're just showing off pics to your mom too.
Blow Up is a pet project of CH collaborators Bond Art + Science, a user experience design shop based in New York City. Senior Interface Developer Jonathan Greacen set out to learn the Flickr API and wanted to build something that offered presentation quality for users and portability for developers. Flee Aerial Digital Camera Prototype
by Max Gold
We're wishing we had Turkish designer Hakan Bogazpinar's design solution for aerial photography for the height of summertime madness. The Flee Digital Camera is like Nerf-vision, capturing images from vantage points otherwise only experienced by low-flying and vigilant feathered friends.
As soon as the Flee launches, it begins to snap multiple photos at a speed interval of your choice. By the time it returns to earth, not only will it have a slew of aerial photographs, but it will automatically deliver them to your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
Taylor's Chocolate Paddle Thermometer
by Evan Orensten
Taylor's Chocolate Paddle Thermometer simplifies the task of working with chocolate by combining two essential tools—a spatula and a thermometer. Key temperatures etched on the paddle provide further assistance, making it even more of a boon for anyone who's ever tried to temper chocolate at home. The versatility of the tool works for many other cooking situations when you need to both mix and monitor temperature and doesn't need to be limited to chocolate making.
Available for $20 at Sur la Table and other retailers.
Bedol's Eco-Friendly Water-Powered Clock
by Evan Orensten
Bedol's new Eco-Friendly Water-Powered Clock isn't the first small desktop clock to run on water, but it's definitely the best looking. A little water, a touch of salt, and this low-maintenance digital clock is good to go.
Available for $16 at the Bedol online store.
