Cool Hunting
Greenpoint-based jewelry designers Fetty of Brooklyn recently released a new collection inscribing multivalent words written in Braille with diamonds or Austrian crystals. Interior lettering reminds the wearer of the message
Available at Barneys stores nationwide, the high-end collection Fetty Signature includes rings, necklaces, earrings ID bracelets and bangles set in polished and oxidized sterling silver with diamonds spelling out the words I Love You, Yes, Forever, Try, Mine, Maybe, Tomorrow and XX written in Standard American Braille.
The sterling silver "Yes" bracelet with diamonds is $625 online from Barneys.
The lower-price point collection Fame also includes the same series of Braille but rendered in crystals to offset costs. The Fame collection will be available at Fred Segal in Santa Monica and at Alter in Brooklyn.
The Braille line is in keeping with Fetty's overall subversively glitzy aesthetic, also mirrored in designer Justin Tranter's band Semi Precious Weapons—making for a hard-edge glam rock lifestyle.

Digby and Iona recently released its Fall 2008 collection of intrepid jewelry inspired by themes from the American Civil War and British Imperialism. Comprised of several sections, including Elements of Disguise, Instruments of Pursuit and Means of Retribution, the series forms...

She kept the completely intact skeleton in its entirety, cleaned and bleached the bones and later made earrings out of some of the ribs. This led to more ideas about seeing the unconventional as precious and thus Specimen Jewelry was...
Brooklyn-based husband-and-wife team, Itsnoname, bring some sexy back to the periodic table of elements. Neon plastic lanyard evokes a summer camp nostalgia when counselors schooled us in the art of kitsch key-chains and friendship bracelets. But in the hands of Philip O'Sullivan, the designer of an innovative new jewelry line, these notions of yesteryear are all but a memory. Made from hiking rope, which is crafted into beautifully intricate knots and finished with gunmetal hardware, each piece is...
Made by English knitwear designer Lucy Miller, we found these hand-tied beaded necklaces at The Rise + Fall store. (Miller's line is among the small collection of goods there that's not from their house label.) We love the way Miller simultaneously reinvents both traditional beadwork and chains for a necklace that's neither too hippie nor too fake bling. (Click image for detail.) "They're really...
