A Pratt graduate who cut his teeth in the Brooklyn design scene, jewelry and furniture maker Kiel Mead represents the next generation of New York designers. In this video, we visit his Brooklyn studio where he shows...

For Office Use Only x United Bamboo Post-Its
by Jason Wilson Typically, a pile of Post-Its is about as fetching as the office partition they're stuck to. Luckily, our friends at United Bamboo have teamed up with design firm, For Office Use Only, to transform the hoary cube into a cubicle centerpiece. Designed by Anh Tuan Pham, the cube lifts images from United Bamboo's campaign photography and places them onto an elaborate sequence...

Baggu Stripes and New Colors
Since first writing about Baggu portable nylon bags, we've started paying more attention to similar concepts on the market. Countless versions preceded the Baggu and there will no doubt be countless imitators following, but the Baggu outdoes them on all counts, not the least of which is their new colors and stripes. My strategy is to go brightly-colored so that my Baggu always pops...

Kraanspoor: Dock Turned Office Building
The Dutch, the beautiful Dutch—in terms of architecture anyway. With Kraanspoor they have led the way again with this reuse of an old crane dock. A new glass office building, with a climatic façade of double glazing, motorized louvers on the outside and full length windows on the inside, hovers above the old dock. The result of the architect Trude Hooykaas of OTH bicycling...

Little Zero T-Shirts
Steve MacDonald aka Steve Mac aka ramblinworker is one of my favorite artists, so I wasn't surprised to hear that the band Modest Mouse had asked to use a piece of his artwork for a t-shirt design. Steve asked his friend Matthew Davis, also an S.F.-based artist and skilled web designer, to join him in making shirts. Together the two created a top-selling Modest...

David Saunders Fashion
David Saunders, a fine artist in a past life who previously dabbled in tees, has brought his impeccable eye for color to an industry still recovering from its excesses. And he pulls it off with aplomb. Placed in London's exclusive, Dover Street Market, his kaleidoscope collection manages to go beyond the youthful addiction with standing out, and makes fluoro impossibly sophisticated. It's an exciting...
