Lisa Kereszi: Fantasies by Jonah Samson

kereszibook.jpg

When tougher new laws began to crack down on strip clubs in Times Square in the 1990s, performers began to focus less on the "strip" and more on the "tease"creating a new type of burlesque movement— and the wonderful Lisa Kereszi (an assistant to Nan Goldin at the time) was there to capture the transformation. In her new book called "Fantasies," her richly-colored photographs bring a luminescence to the grimy elegance of the old theaters.

You can pick up a copy of the book and have it signed by the artist herself during a book-signing tomorrow at Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York. See below for details. If you can't make it, the book's available from Photo-Eye and Amazon.
