Boobs and Dinks Early Detection Kits by Mike Frank

BD2_4.jpg BD_1.jpg

While testicular and breast cancer is something we might not want to think about, Shanon Gerdard uses humor to eliminate some of the fear surrounding that dreaded monthly self-exam. Her Boobs and Dinks Early Detection Kits include crocheted breasts or penises that contain small lumps that can be found by following instructions provided in the accompanying booklets. On top of everything else, she donates $5 from every sale to Cottage Dreams, a cancer recovery initiative in Haliburton, Ontario.

All seriousness aside, who won't love to receive some handcrafted boobies or a penis in the mail?!

Hidetoshi Takahashi: Cara & Kami Cups
Carved out of wood from Japanese trees, Hidetoshi Takahashi's new series of cups for design-oriented boutique Merchant No. 4 are excellent examples of his meticulously executed work. The series offers two styles, the Cara and Kami. The Cara cups, designed by Rina Ono, include a tea cup, a milk cup and an egg cup, all comprised of wood from the Linden tree. The Kami is...
Kate Cusack: Zipper Jewelry, Costume Design and Window Dressing
by Ezra Natalia For Kate Cusack, the New York-based jewelery designer, costumer and wig-maker, her iPod's shuffle setting is an apt metaphor for the ups and downs of her hectic lifestyle, “The shuffle bounces all over the place and reminds me of music I like, but don't always remember to choose. Sometimes the song transition nicely from one to the next for a while, but...
