Puma x BDGA Spy II Hi by Josh Rubin

Everyone's favorite dueling spy duo, Spy vs. Spy, are making their way from the pages of Mad Magazine onto a new limited edition sneaker.

Inspired by the classic comic, Puma and Boston-based boutique Bodega got together to create a special shoe based on Puma's classic Sky II Hi silhouette, aptly named the Spy II Hi. Made of premium leather, I especially like the translucent outsoles embedded with the iconic black and white spy characters.

In keeping with the theme, there are hidden messages on the shoe and even a stash pocket holding a top secret message for decoding. A limited number of pairs will be released on Saturday, 23 February 2008, at only a handful of stores. More images of the sneaker and retail locations here. We recommend a little of your own espionage to secure a pair now.

An Interview with Mihara Yasuhiro
For the past seven years Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro has been collaborating with Puma on a line of wildly inventive sneakers that has become known—with features like patterns, drips, fur, studs, stripes and metallics—for adding a true avant-garde edge to shoes. The current Spring/Summer 2007 collection marks Mihara's fifth collection with Puma that includes limited edition re-issues of the MY-1 Peace, featuring a variation...
Snakeskin Wallabees
Aside from the occasional camo, most Wallabee colorways are subtle deviations from classic. These, made from dyed Python skin, are anything but low-key. Designed by Boston-based Soldier Design in collaboration with Tannery co-owner Tarek Hassan and Clarks Footwear they were a concept started back in 2005. Eventually 15 pair were made and they went on sale today at The Tannery in Harvard Square, Cambridge,...
John Varvatos Converse "Crazy Laces"
For their first collaboration John Varvatos and Converse brought you the slip-on Chuck—summer's perfect shoe. Now it's slightly Goth fall brother has dropped and is quite a sight. As seen in the pic above provided so kindly by UNDFTD, there are 19 eyelets on either side of the shoe but the black canvas, eyelets and laces balance chaos with simplicity. And those laces are...
