Cool Hunting
Inspired by the San Francisco lifestyle, FluffyCo is an apparel and home decor line featuring original designs printed on high-quality, California-made clothing with environmentally friendly water-based inks. In addition to t-shirts, hoodies and skirts, FluffyCo also features a line of accessories made from Naugahyde and lined with felt, including wallets, iPod cases, eyeglass cases, bag tags and passport covers.
Their new home decor line features throw pillows, wall-mount bottle openers and wall art with hooks, which are all screen-printed by hand. My favorite design "teddybear picnic" features a Scandinavian style cut-out pattern and is available in several colors as a shirt, pillow or wall hanging.
With new designs, a line of children's clothing and several limited edition prints launching soon, we'll be looking out for new FluffyCo designs in 2008.

Sumo, a San Francisco-based accessory designer, has hit on a novel idea with a set of high-quality leather iPod cases featuring the national colors of several of the most popular World Cup national soccer teams. Choose from: USA, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina (pictured, a Cool Hunting premiere), England, Mexico, and non-specific black. If you’ve been in a sportsbar with even a smattering of European,...
Anyone who's spent any time South of the border has seen the color-splashed oilcloths that Austin-based designer Maggie Stephens uses to make her Magpie iPod Nano "outfits". Stephens, a marathon runner, came up with the design after she couldn't find a functional yet still good-looking way to carry her Nano when training. Already the owner of Magpie, a successful accessories business, Stephens designed the...
After a year of holding out for the perfect wall coverings for my down-south bachelor pad, I've started to gain quite the reputation as a de facto minimalist. It's high time I clear my name with the these superb prints from Scott Hansen. Under the moniker ISO50 (after his choice of Fuji slide film), the Sacramento-based Hansen has been slinging his fine print designs...
Blame Clothing is a relatively new design collective, founded in the Summer of 2004. It's made up of three young individual artists all looking for a creative outlet. I think this "I love my iPod" shirt is totally great. They also have a few belt buckles and buttons--they're still small but I suspect they will bring some more solid designs like this in the...
During my travels through lovely San Francisco, I saw lots of amazing and wonderful stuff. At just about every other store without initially realizing who it was each time, I would notice the work of Ogi over and over again, like love at first sight on repeat. Finally on my last day, it happened once more and I asked one of the store clerks,...
Today Steve Jobs gave the keynote at Macworld 2004 in San Francisco. The iPod mini is very exciting, as is iLife 4. The most exciting thing of the day for me, however, was the little remake of the original Apple Macintosh ad from 1984. My favorite TV commercial of all time has been subtly enhanced by including an iPod. It has been 20 years...
