by Ami Kealoha

by Naomi Nevitt

Manhattan boutique Den is sure to be on every well-dressed girl's To Do list this winter with the arrival of Walker's spring collection this Friday, 1 February 2008. For the past eight months, Den has hosted a short list of notably fresh talents&emdash;including menswear designer Tim Hamilton, Cheap Monday, and Rag & Bone&emdash;in a space that completely transforms with each new occupant's complete collection.

Beautifully art-directed by famed interior designer, Katie Lockhart, the Karen Walker store opening is scheduled to coincide with the designer's fall/winter 2008 presentation at New York Fashion Week. "It's like a mini Karen Walker emporium," the designer says of her new temporary NYC outpost. And while true-blue KW devotees are already planning repeat visits, no one seems as excited as Walker herself. "For a designer that doesn't have his/her own retail store in New York, it really is the dream environment."

What's Up Buenos Aires?

by Lost At E Minor

We've been enjoying Whats Up Buenos Aires? for a little while now and the editorials and hot list have become a must-have resource for those eager to experience the vibrancy of "South America's answer to Paris."

Pencil Scarf

by Letizia Rossi

pencilscyellow_lrg.jpg

With nostalgic grade-school appeal, this cheeky Pencil Scarf from U.K.-based label Lazy Oaf is both in step with persistent surrealist trends in more haute fashion circles (like Marc Jacob's infamous deconstructed shoes last season) and with decidedly more lowbrow circles, like the Bacon Scarf. Sure to elicit smiles on the subway or on the street, the pencil's smirk and splash of pink eraser make for a humorous addition to drab winter wardrobes.

Available in yellow and red online (and unfortunately in acryclic only) from Lazy Oaf Shop for £25.

Lykke Li

by Lost At E Minor

When CH predicted in 2006 that Swedish songstress Lykke Li was one to look out for in the coming year, it may have been a little premature. With her debut album, Youth Novels, slated for release at the end of this month, it looks as if the 21 years-old has 2008 written all over her. There's a huge bidding war underway for her now, not surprising given that her sound is a cross between Concretes, Robyn, Royksopp and a dash of M.I.A.—all done with a lo-fi girly pop electronic twist.

Drop Stop Tea Strainer

by Letizia Rossi

dropstop.jpg

A great solution to the age-old problem of where to put the tea bag or strainer after steeping tea, the Drop Stop Tea Strainer is the a clever all-in-one solution. Though there's a certain charm to vintage "I will hold the tea bag" dishes the Drop Stop is an elegant, clutter reducing approach to the dilemma. The stainless steel strainer hangs on the rim while steeping; the built-in spoon catches drips when resting on a table.

Available from Uncommon Goods for $16.

Nike Be True City Collection

by Tim Yu

The folks responsible for starting the whole limited-edition trend are at it again with the Nike Be True City Collection. Continuing to torture their customers with skinny releases, only be 86 pairs of each color will be available in seven select cities—New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Rio de Janiero. After that you're gonna have to comb eBay.

I haven't been a big fan of some previous Dunk releases, but I like this black-on-black version, because it puts more emphasis on the texture and materials . If you look closely, they also feature coordinated accents, matching laces to the trim. Price and store locations have yet to be released, but prepare to spend top dollar if you want to put these on your feet.
