mStation Orb
by Seth Brau

I swear I'm not that big of a nerd, but anything that kind of reminds me of Star Wars is just totally awesome, especially when it happens to look like the Death Star. The Orb from mStation is just that, a sleek and stylish "Made for iPod" desktop docking station/speaker system that, just like the name suggest, is an orb that packs a powerful sound.
Like a round throne for your iPod, The Orb comes in seven different vibrant colors and includes a handy 10-key remote allowing for adjustment of the bass and treble. It also has a dedicated sub woofer, syncs with iTunes and boasts 30 watts of superior power, all in speaker with a small footprint that's perfect for offices, dorms and other small spaces. For more information or to purchase an Orb ($130) head to mStation.

Trois Crepes Dark Chocolate Perles
by Ami Kealoha
Pearl-shaped and tiny, the Manhattan patisserie Trois Crepes' Dark Chocolate Pearls contain something like a buttery Rice Krispy in a coverture of bittersweet chocolate. A pleasing crunch and slight saltiness makes for a surprising experience, but the chocolate balances both the flavor and texture. The Perles are delicious sprinkled on ice cream or yogurt, but we also like pouring them directly into our mouth. We're especially excited about the idea of making cookies with them.
A ½ pound is $12 from Trois Crepes.

Making Stuff for Kids
by Letizia Rossi
A craft book for children of the "craft revolution," "Making Stuff Kids" from Black Dog Publishing celebrates crafting as a great way to improve skills such as imagination, dexterity and problem-solving, as well as the increased opportunity for family time that arises when children and parents step away from their computers and video games and make something together. Like the craft book for adults that preceded it, Making Stuff also celebrates the virtues of getting messy and a love for the process of creating. Featuring childhood arts and craft favorites like potato stamps, pet rocks and scratch arts, it also has traditional crafts like knitting, felting, and cross-stitch and innovative projects designed by artists.
The easy-to-follow (though written in British vernacular) instructions for making a range of projects for different skill levels and ages and a section of projects that adults can make for their children are supplemented by full-color photos and charming illustrations.
