Eye-Fi

by Josh Rubin

eyeficard.jpg

I was already wowed by the exceedingly simple and totally ingenious Eye-Fi card for its ability to wirelessly send photos to your computer, as well as Flickr and other photo uploading sites. But with the introduction of a feature that directly syncs with iPhoto, a good thing just got better.

By installing Eye-Fi software on your computer and using the 2GB card in your camera in place of a regular SD card, you can use your home WiFi network to automatically upload photos via easy-to-use software. It's really that simple.

With amazing pop-up book-style packaging, I'm pretty much smitten. Pick it up from Amazon or Photojojo for $100.

Colors 72

by Tim Yu

Colors72.jpg Colors72China.jpg

For issue 72, Colors, the global and socially conscious magazine, has gone without, well, colors. Why? "There are 40 million blind people in the world. Colors devotes a black-white-issue issue to them."

For a demographic that doesn't usually get to enjoy magazines, this first colorless Colors includes inspiring first person stories from blind people and a four-language CD with audio of the entire issue which also features gypsy music by blind violinist Tcha Limberger. Those of us who are fortunate to have vision, will enjoy the rich and moving black and white photos. More images from the issue after the jump.

Jason Markk x Staple Sneaker Solution Set

by Tim Yu

StapleMarkkFingerHole.jpg StapleMarkkGoodsOut.jpg

It sounded like a good idea, but when we first heard about Jason Markk sneaker solution, we had our doubts. Even after all the rave reviews, I wondered if I couldn't get the same results with a little soap, water, a toothbrush and some hard scrubbing and skip the fancy packaging. Then good ol' Jeff Staple lent his cred with the recent release of the new Jason Markk x Staple pack and I decided to give it a try. The truth is nothing compares.

StapleMarkkPulledOut.jpg

Limited to only 600 produced, the Staple-designed packaging closely resembles iconic orange and black Nike sneaker boxes. I think it's the best looking Jason Markk set to date.

Most satisfying is a finger hole that allows you to laterally pull out the housing to reveal two tiers of shoe cleaning products. Everything is neatly presented and easily accessible. The set includes two ounces of the Premium Sneaker Solution, a handcrafted Sneaker Cleaning Brush and a Travel Size Toothbrush on the first level and Embroidered Ankle Socks and a Microfiber Towel that appropriately reads "Cleanse Your Sole" live on the second.

I was surprised at how well the solution worked on getting out greasy stains on the side of the sole and toe, but the best part of Markk's solution is that it won't dry out and crack your leather like soap and water might. Not just for sneaker heads but for anyone that appreciates a neat and clean look, purchase it for $65 at Reed Space in New York or online at Jason Markk.

NY-based designer Travis Pagel has just launched Wade-Hampton Home, his new home accessory and textile company. His first products are a series of Argentine cow hide pillows, in both natural and hand-painted styles. Each is one of a kind.

Travis says, "I have discovered many uncommon and innovative materials during my travels that I intend to utilize and introduce in future product releases...that will captivate through distinctive and useful style."

FluffyCo Apparel and Home Decor

by Letizia Rossi

BOsother.jpg

Inspired by the San Francisco lifestyle, FluffyCo is an apparel and home decor line featuring original designs printed on high-quality, California-made clothing with environmentally friendly water-based inks. In addition to t-shirts, hoodies and skirts, FluffyCo also features a line of accessories made from Naugahyde and lined with felt, including wallets, iPod cases, eyeglass cases, bag tags and passport covers.

Their new home decor line features throw pillows, wall-mount bottle openers and wall art with hooks, which are all screen-printed by hand. My favorite design "teddybear picnic" features a Scandinavian style cut-out pattern and is available in several colors as a shirt, pillow or wall hanging.

With new designs, a line of children's clothing and several limited edition prints launching soon, we'll be looking out for new FluffyCo designs in 2008.
