Matthew Woodson by Lost At E Minor

matthewwoodsonskeleton.jpg mattwoodsonwomen.jpg

Matthew Woodson's illustration style doesn't exactly break new ground, but it's his rotoscoping-like technique we like most. Overriding themes include half-nude woman, tattoos, skeletons, violence and mystery, all of which we like and seek out. Check out more of his work on his website, ghostco, blog, with hands and hair (and eyes and bones and knees). You can also see his work in some editions of Penthouse.

Six Letter Word: Bloody Vans
It's hard not to sigh at another vector face or skull and diamond combo. I'm guilty of skull overindulgence myself. But Six Letter Word (aka illustrator, Diogo Potes) balances skulls with other macabre themes to create art that actually looks fresh and interesting. His use of random fragmented shapes and delicate lifework add dimension and individuality to topics that could easily be overdone. My...
Luke Feldman: The Whimsical World of Skaffs
Australian artist Luke Feldman's exhibition of visual and audio artworks, "The Whimsical World of Skaffs," opens at Seattle's Bluebottle Art Gallery today, 2 October 2007 and runs through 30 October 2007. Combining visual works with atmospheric music (also composed by Feldman), the world of Skaffs is an AV experience, evidently. With illustrations composed of simple bold lines, vibrant colors give Feldman's compositions movement and...
