Scion's fourth installment of their Installation Art Tour , entitled "It's A Beautiful World," arrives in Miami for Art Basel on 7 December 2007. The opening reception for the public will take place from 7-10pm at The Raleigh Hotel Penthouse on South Beach. Included in the installation are the likes of Mel Kadel (pictured above), Jeff Soto (pictured below), Mike Giant, David Choe, Ron English and a whole slew of others—all street art's finest.

Six of this year's artists designed custom balloons, each eight-feet in diameter, which will fly over the grounds of the Raleigh Hotel. (See our video from last year for the Friends With You balloon parade they sponsored) Also on display, custom-designed Scion art cars from Dalek, Sage Vaughn, and Ron English should be fun eye-candy.

For more information go to Scion.

Dietrich Wegner at Pulse
by Kelsey KeithLast week we were taken aback at NYC's Pulse Art Fair by artist Dietrich Wegner's "Playhouse," an installation shaped like a mushroom cloud and built like a tree fort covered in swaths of cotton. A study in contradiction, "Playhouse" mingled with tattooed babies and dotted light paintings in Chicago gallerist Carrie Secrist Gallery's booth. Wegner creates "images that are safe and unsettling, abject...
Banksy's Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill Video
For something as bizarrely inventive as Banksy's current installation of animatronic food, we couldn't conceive of a better video than this one that Notcot commissioned from CH pal Seth Brau. The piece is a montage of the various vignettes—hot dogs in love, chicken nuggets sipping water—cut to a twangy country soundtrack which was inspired by the music that's actually playing at the gallery. Seth's...
Cool Hunting Video Presents: Electric Windows
Bringing together 24 street artists from all over the world, Electric Windows is a semi-permanent installation of large-scale work exhibited on the exterior windows of a 19th century blanket factory in Beacon, NY. We traveled to the small town earlier this year to meet some of the artists and watch them make "urban art" in a not-so-urban setting. We also interview one of the...
Art Basel Miami Beach Studio Visits
New to the events happening during Art Basel this year, a series of studio visits allows visitors to see what happens before the art gets into the sterile white walls of the booths and galleries. Running through 8 December 2007, daily tours include artists like RISD fallout Jim Drain and friend of CH Lynne Golub Gelfman whose process (as evidenced by the image of...
