Last night we got our first look at the new North Face NSE Collection, a special limited collaboration with the Japanese sportswear manufacturer Goldwin. Inspired by the white birch forests that thrive on the northern island of Japan, the centerpiece of the collection is a new camo print featuring images of the birch forests. The first of the NSE special collector's edition, which will be announced annually, also includes puffy jackets, reversibles, hoodies, bags and pants.
Engineered by working closely with snowboarders and skiers, all pieces highlight the latest technical innovations in insulation, construction, waterproofing and breathability. The limited U.S. release will hit stores on 8 December 2007 only at the The North Face SoHo store, HUF and Alife. To see more images, continue reading.

Through a Neil Harmon photo essay on Honeyee called Still...
I used to make fun of people who wore denim on the slopes, but Burton recently made it more functional with this first edition Gore-Tex LTD Grail Denim Jacket and Pant.Denim alone is probably the worst thing you could wear in cold and wet conditions, however an exclusive collaboration with Gore-Tex gives Burton the sole rights for two years to use their technology that...

During our recent visit to Crested Butte Mountain Resort we tested a bunch of new gear, including hard and soft equipment, socks, backpacks, lotions and even a drink to help us with the altitude. The following are some of our favorites this year. Josh Rubin: Mammut Nirvana Snowpeak Jacket Featuring a great cut that maximizes mobility, the Mammut Nirvana Snowpeak Jacket is comfortable and...
It's no wonder the privately owned Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is on the edge of becoming a full-blown destination resort—in some ways similar to that of its long distance neighbor Telluride—however it somehow manages to maintain a relaxed, local and very backcountry feel. Friend and CBMR's Communication Director, Todd Walton comments, "As change occurs, we maintain a profound respect for what has made...
