Cool Hunting
In celebration of their newly redesigned site, Beautiful Decay is giving away a three-pack of tees along with their Archive Book to a few CH readers. We've been fans of their artist series shirts from the beginning and the book showcases many of the artists that have been featured in the magazine, so this is definitely a giveaway not to miss.
As far as the new site, it's worth taking note of a couple features. Overall, clear, concise navigation through the menu makes it easy to get to content. A welcome new component is the gallery guide, a comprehensive listing of many B/D type galleries covering most of the U.S. and Europe—it's a great resource that I'm sure I'll be using often.
To enter the giveaway, just follow the contact link at the bottom of the page, select "Beautiful Decay Giveaway" from the pull-down menu and tell us your favorite part of their new site before Thursday, 4 October 2007, 11:59pm EST. We'll chose a winner at random from the entries.

It may be warm and bright outside but Beautiful/Decay magazine seems to have been languishing in darkness. Their newest, Issue S, presents a mix of ill–omened themes such as death metal, ritual suicide and the Dark Ages. Hanna Liden's eerie photo series of masked figures (cover image, above left) set in dark swamps only adds to the foreboding effect. Wu-Tang Clan's the RZA wanders...
Recently added to Beautiful/Decay's line of artist-designed tees, these two new shirts continue the brand's shirt-as-canvas approach. Australian artist Jonathan Nicol's "Conan Shirt" juxtaposes mythological icons, like vampire teeth, a woman wearing an eye patch and a skull, using a palette restricted to gray, yellow, black, and white. For Aya Kato's second Beautiful/Decay effort, the Japanese artist depicts two mermaids and their watery surroundings...
Tokyo Art Beat is an essential guide to the Tokyo art and design scene. The site is published in both Japanese and English and is free, making it a must for anyone living in or traveling to Tokyo. They have recently released a series of T-shirts by famed designers Jonathan Barnbrook, Paul Cox, Power Graphixx, Noboru Tsubaki and Buro Destruct. The shirts cost ¥3000...
Hint Fashion Magazine, has a pretty solid line up of designer and limited edition T's in their online shop. They have a neat 'King of Rock' T-shirt, by Ken Courtney from Ju$t Another Rich Kid, a Patrik Rzepski design, and more. The design that caught my eye though was the Unholy Matrimony shirt by L.A. artist and designer Brett Westfall. All of his shirts...

The Drama Store has a really nice collection of designer books, magazines, clothing, toys and accessories. They all are from independent designers, like this Salt Tooth Press shirt, which is a collaborative illustration between Max Hubenthal and Travis Robertson. Aside from all the wearables they have a bunch of really great limited edition screen prints and painted canvases for sale....
