Veré Spicy Pumpkorn
by Ami Kealoha

Coated in rich, dark chocolate and with addictive spiced pumpkin seeds, Veré's take on caramel corn, called Pumpkorn, is just in time for Halloween. Samples of the new product at CH HQ were quickly gobbled up—our tasters were surprised but enjoyed the pleasant heat of the Chipotle chile powder. The spice contrasts nicely with the sticky sweetness of the caramel, the crunch of the corn and the nuttiness of the seeds. It's a perfect Autumnal treat by one of our favorite chocolate-makers, but we're already hearing rumors from Veré that it might become a year-round specialty.
Currently Pumpkorn's limited to Veré's local markets in Manhattan (see a list of stores after the jump), retailing for $5 per bag.

Bruno 9Li
by Phuong-Cac Nguyen

Producing work that is wildly imaginative and meticulously realized, the Brazilian artist known as Bruno 9Li is the latest of the Rojo Magazine group to publish his own monographic book. Entitled Agora Eterno, the book's release is being paired with a month-long solo exhibit, Tormenta, being held in his hometown at the brand new Sao Paulo branch of Rojo's Artspace.
The theme encompassing the show is dark and metaphysical playing with ideas of "chaos, myth, streets, trance, death, rebirth, what is natural and supernatural,"—all reflections of Bruno's personal interests and spirituality. Incorporating painted flames that are sometimes fanned by floral tendrils, his works depict scenes in which every animal and anthropomorphic being is able to coexist with each other but is invariably enveloped in his own state of entropy. Using only basic, bold colors, Bruno 9Li sometimes paints on the walls behind his canvasses to further layer his work (right).
The exhibit opened on 23 October and runs through 24 November 2007. You can order his book, Agora Eterno at the Rojo Shop for 25€.

Clear Box
by Tim Yu

Taking sneaker obsessions to another level, this Clear Box, by Japanese designer Neo, is actually useful when choosing which shoes to wear and good-looking—well, depending on which pair you have in there.
Perfect for those who have a grip of sneakers or even just to display a prized possession, we think the plexiglass box would make for good stock packaging for a sneaker company looking to up the ante. Until then pick one up for €65 from We Sold Out.

Lifebag
by Tim Yu

For extreme sports types or those who just like to take every precaution, Swiss company Snowpulse developed Lifebag. Like an airbag, it's designed to protect the head and thorax while keeping you afloat during an avalanche.
Manually deployed similar to a parachute, the 150-liter shield inflates in less than three seconds and deflates after 90 seconds. Should you get buried, when the bag deflates you'll at least have a small air pocket to breathe, scream and hope to be found.
Though it's hard to take seriously from the looks of it, it has reportedly saved dozens of lives already. All it requires is the presence of mind to find and pull the handle while it's all going down.
Priced at $1,100, it won't be available in the States until December 2008. More info at Snowpulse.
Morganna Magee
by Lost At E Minor

Melbourne-based documentary photographer Morganna Magee shot this backstage series on showgirls to show the "banal reality of what they do as opposed to the sexed-up glamour of being on stage."
