WESC 686 Jean by Josh Rubin

WESCjean.jpg WESCselvage.jpg

If you're over tight jeans these days, then WESC's new 686 Raw Selvage Jeans are the way to go. Baggy, but not early '90s baggy, they're a medium-rise, straight leg pant with a more generous cut than super skinnies. Part of their premium denim line, the Japanese fabric (it's ring spun denim, produced on vintage shuttle looms with a handmade finishing process) features a mix of yellow and gold seams. Asymmetrical stitch patterns adorn the two rear pockets, while the front pocket linings are stamped with the WESC print. Other nice details include back and coin pockets cut with the yellow and white selvage lines intact while buttons and rivets read "Superlative Conspiracy Yeah!"

Visit WESC to find stores and contact information. Also be sure to check out their jackets, sweats and knitwear, which are often good picks and top of the line.

A.P.C. Surplus, Brooklyn
We were among the excited first today to check out A.P.C.'s latest store (and the second of their outlets worldwide) today in Brooklyn. Called A.P.C. Surplus for its flat 60% discounted prices, the Williamsburg storefront is housed in a beautiful former bank with plenty of rustic charm (i.e. it looks as if it recently caught fire). At only 600 square feet, the space feels...

Call of the Wild A/W 2007
London-based clothing label Call of the Wild's upcoming autumn/winter 2007 collection looks very promising. The work of graphic design duo Kai and Sunny, the two have worked together since college handling everything from illustration and art direction for companies such as Nike and Levi's, but some of their best work comes from their very own label, Call of the Wild. For their newest collection...
The Rise and Fall Jeans
Since gaining a following that includes megastore Urban Outfitters for their tees, Brooklyn-based line The Rise and Fall made their first foray into denim that's refreshingly low-frill. Slim and straight, rather than skin-tight, it's a pair of jeans that's comely and comfortable yet utilitarian. "We have them made here in the USA and they're sort of a reaction to all of the ridiculously overdone...
