Cool Hunting
For me, basic tees all come down to comfort and cut. Made of super-soft pima cotton, 429 Life's t-shirts, polos, and henleys are hard to beat for their simplicity and attention to detail. Light and breathable, they're great for those really hot summer days and small side slits add an athletic appeal.
Recently presented at the Pitti Uomo tradeshow to great fanfare, Cool Hunting got a sneak peek of 429's Fall/Winter line which includes v-neck cashmere sweaters, v-neck hoodies and round-neck cashmere vests (pictured after the jump). We also heard that bathing suits, shorts, pants and jackets are in the works, so keep a look out for an expanded line in the near future.
Cool Hunting readers get an additional 40% off of 429's already moderately priced clothing. Just enter the promotional code "CH07" when shopping online here. The offer lasts until 15 August 2007.

The Momimomi t-shirts we've come to adore and covet are coming out with a new series, Tar and Feathers. Hitting their website tomorrow, the tees are super soft and cut to fit perfectly as always, but we get a new round of great graphics. Fragmented and blotchy graphics create abstract everyday objects like a bird (above center), lightning (above left), and a leaf (above...
Blake Hamster's first release of shirts combine fresh graphic design with an innovative blend of organic cotton and Seacell, a new yarn with seaweed elements that impart anti-inflammatory and moisturizing agents to the wearer. The fabric feels like any other tee and produced in very limited quantities (50 per style) with limited circulation, you can be assured that you will be the only one...
Two years ago Klaus Industries proclaimed that 2006 was the new 1984. While the fledgling experiment of democracy is still fledgling, the Portland, Oregon-based company has expanded their line of irreverent and humorous wears. Aside from an update on that particularly ominous theme, these hand-dyed printed shirts extol the tough-guy Abe Lincoln and the need for some domestic humanitarian intervention. “Our shirts are intended...
Western Massachussetts-basedTurn Nocturnal design studio is the brainchild of designer Matt McInerney and his good friend Jack Strong. Busting onto the scene a few months ago with their best selling font driven "Huge Type Looks Sweet" t-shirt ( still a favorite of mine) they've since followed up with a few others, their latest is "Turn The City and is available, along with Huge Type...
by Valery JosephThe designers behind Los Angeles-based Solid Gold Rags are sparing us the search for the perfectly worn-in t-shirt with a new line of beautifully tattered tees. Screen-prints of pop-culture icons—French singers and muses Françoise Hardy and Serge Gainsbourg front two of the collection's pieces—the almost criminally soft shirts. Co-founders Perry Shimon, and Oliver Kupperhe seek to create quietly personal, everyday pieces that...
A deceivingly funny t-shirt from Kaws using his trademark Mickey Mouse-esque cartoon hands, it just about sums up the complicated set of feelings I have about New York City (and everything else) these days. (Also see Public School's similar expression of dueling emotions.) Available in black and white from We Sold Out for €65. via Highsnobiety...
