Creative Recreation Fall 2007 by Tim Yu
Until now Creative Recreation's busy line of sneakers available in dizzying numbers of colorways hasn't quite appealed to my taste for subtler, clean-cut shoes. But their new Fall 2007 collection swayed my opinion.
The Rocco, Colombo and Ponti (pictured above from L-R, click on image for detail) immediately caught my eye for their more grown-up, understated approach. I like the move towards more monochrome looks and, as always, Creative Rec's use of premium leathers make them a wise investment. Details like the Ponti hi-top's elastic band for added comfort and flexibility and the Vans-inspired Colombo are a nice move for the brand.

The Generic Man's All Things Generic pop-up store, housed inside Space 1520 (Urban Outfitter's concept mini-mall for indie labels in Hollywood), is anything but generic. Later this month, Adidas will introduce Zeitfrei, its new line of cycling-inspired shoes. For the first offerings, they opted for a pair of collaborations, one with the preeminent sneaker site Hypebeast and the other with the Berlin-based boutique Solebox. Both feature a low-profile design with technical elements specifically made for fixed-gear cycling. Perforated uppers give ventilation and subtle reflective accents surround the shoes' base...
