Sundance Messenger Bag by Jacob Resneck

messengerbagmetro.jpg

In 1969, Robert Redford founded the Sundance village —a pastoral escape at the foot of the Utah's Wasatch Mountains and established a general store. Popular demand for its stock—mostly crafted by local artisans—led to the establishment in 1989 of the Sundance Catalog. The canvas messenger [sic] bag ($148), based on the bags popularized by bike messengers from San Francisco to Copenhagen is sturdy, attractive and and functional.

Crafted of linen, cotton and leather, these bike messenger bags are perfect for schlepping laptops (they have a built-in padded pocket), books and other necessities of daily life for the bike commuter, subway rider or pedestrian.
