Nikolai Rose Ties by Ami Kealoha

nikolairose.jpg teefnecklace.jpg

Designed by two twenty year-old New York boys, Nikolai Rose looks extremely promising with their first collection of neckties and jewelry. The ties are beautifully styled with completely original designs made of 100% silk in New York City. Classically cut, the designs are modern and youthful yet as easily worn in a casual setting as with a suit. Their first run consists of six designs limited to 100 each, individually numbered on a linen label that doubles as a stash pocket. As for the jewelry, they're currently only offering one necklace and it's a beautifully handcrafted silver charm in the shape of a diamond. Available online and soon enough at high-end retailers, Nikolai Roses' future looks very bright.

Urban Cast-Away
For the second installment of Construkt, Marithé+François Girbaud's quarterly artist-designed series of objects, New York-based designer Dror Benshetrit created these limited edition handmade ceramic sculptures and jewelry pieces called Urban Cast-Aways. The result of experimentation with ceramic, Benchetrit ultimately used fur to make the collection that includes one-of-a-kind art objects, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Like Dror's broken "Vase of Phases" and martini glass,...

De Grisogono Meccanico dG
Contrary to its appearance, the Meccanico dG has no digital components. Below the more conventional analog portion of the two-timezone watch is a numerical display driven by the intricate interplay of 651 strictly mechanical components. Numbers are formed by the motion of 23 cams, which are connected to gears and a synchronization system. To prove it, the watch's back features a transparent dial plate...
Leslie Shershow Jewelry
Boston-area metalsmith and jewelry designer Leslie Shershow finds inspiration in topics as disparate as found objects, stuffed animals, and the exploitation of nature by humans. Despite the wide array of subject matter, her collections share a refined ruggedness and a rough-hewn beauty. Our favorite collection is her Alaska Series, with its antlers, rifles, bear heads and horns. Selections from the Alaska Series have recently...
