Cool Hunting
Launched today, the Refinery29 x BBlessing Pop-Up Shop is a collaboration between BBlessing, the newish men's boutique in the Lower East Side, and Refinery29, NYC's doyenne of shopping, offering 13 items exclusively in the online store until 3 June 2007. In addition to carrying BBlessing's own label, Surface to Air, Raf by Raf Simons and Rag & Bone, they've teamed up to create an exclusive line that includes t-shirts, books and jewelry.
The tees, called "The Beyond," are a series featuring line drawings by NY-based artist (and BBlessing in-house designer) Nicholas Kratochvil. Jewelry includes two necklaces each by Surface 2 Air (a Polished Steel Key Pendant and a Rubber-Dipped Sword Pendant) and Digby & Iona (a Fighting cock in either silver with topaz or gold with rubies). Two gilt-edged, Italian leather-bound books—a hardcover blank notebook and a travel journal with a soft cover, international info, maps and graph paper—round out the collection. "It happened quickly," says Terline, when asked how long the latest store had been in the works. "This...

Two new boutiques recently broke ground on the Lower East Side. Williamsburg antiques dealers Moon Rhee and designer Hey Ja Do were bored with the typical local vintage store fare. Inside the alabaster space is a meticulous selection of vintage and current collections,...
SoHo's latest additon, In God We Trust, opened 1 May 2007, and perfectly translates the curiosity/antique shop essence of its Brooklyn predecessor. Closet-like racks bear clothes and accessories by Ritten House, Shennan, Kristen Coates, Beard and Bangs, Harvey Hats, M. Carter, and Shara Porter—designers with a homespun aesthetic much like the In God We Trust label. And as for the much–loved In God We...
