A group show of six contemporary urban artists, "Don't Do That!" opens today, Friday, 4 May 2007, at Elms Lesters Painting Rooms. The show includes new constructivist pieces (pictured) and collages by Dutch artist Boris Tellegen (aka DELTA), a selection of paintings by pop surrealist Ron English (you may have seen his billboard interventions), new paintings by London-based artist Andrew McAttee, some of Dalek’s beautifully-painted characters, iconic paintings by NYC’s own Stash and erotic "Toile de Jouy" paintings by Brooklyn-based Mark Dean Veca.

Buff Monster: The Sweetest Thing

Swoon: Drown Your Boats
Swoon's first Los Angeles solo exhibition, "Drown Your Boats" opens tomorrow, 16 February 2008 at New Image Art. Partially inspired by Angela Carter's collection of short stories "Burning Your Boats," which reinterprets traditional tales and twists the mundane, you can see the connection as Swoon work combines glimpses of everyday life, legends and variations on mythic themes in her own graceful style. Over the...
